Prof. Chen Jun, on behalf of Hainan University, warmly welcomed Prof. Wang to join the IAB. He emphasized that the IAB has held five plenary meetings so far and has played an important role in promoting the launch of the League of Tropical Universities and the cooperation of industry, research and education. As the advisor of the University, the IAB has provided a series of highly constructive opinions and suggestions for the University in formulating and achieving strategic objectives. He also added that Prof. Wang's joining will contribute a lot to the University as it strives to become a comprehensive, research-oriented and internationalized university under the Double First-Class Initiative.

Chair Da Hsuan Feng and Vice Chair Carter Tseng, on behalf of the IAB, warmly welcomed Prof. Wang to join the board. They noted that the IAB, established in 2019, consists of 21 internationally renowned scholars and senior executives, including four Nobel laureates and two honorary members, but lacks a native Hainanese member. They believe that Prof. Wang's participation will not only fill out this gap but also bring more international experience, thus improving the overall development of the University to some extent.

Prof. Wang Jing expressed his gratitude and honor to join the IAB. He recalled his work experiences at Hainan University more than 30 years ago and fully endorsed the remarkable achievements made by the University in recent years. He conveyed his expectations to work with the IAB to contribute to the development of the University.

Attendees also included Deputy Directors from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (School of International Education, Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs) and the Office of External Relations and Alumni Affairs (Center for Overseas Hainanese Friendship), as well as personnel from the Hainan University International Advisory Board Secretariat.
